Potato - Au Gratin

The term Au Gratin means sprinkled with Cheese or breadcrumbs and baked in the oven.

Ingredients

  • Butter (1 amt)
  • Flour (1 amt)
  • Garlic (1 amt)
  • Heavy Cream (1 amt)
  • Pepper (1 amt)
  • Potatoes (1 amt)
  • Red Onion (1 amt)
  • Rosemary (1 amt)
  • Thyme (1 amt)

Steps

  1. Make a roux from the butter and flour, and set aside.
  2. Add 2 chopped yellow onions and chopped garlic to the heavy cream.
  3. Simmer to blend, then bring to a boil and add the roux.
  4. Toss sliced potatoes with chopped rosemary, diced red onion, and salt and pepper.
  5. Layer sauce, potato, sauce, potato until desired height.
  6. Bake @ 350 for ___ minutes, let cool.
  7. Cover with cheese and bake to brown.
